In the far and distant future, humanity has awakened a terrible fate. With deep earth drillings, they have awakened dragons from their deep slumber underneath the planet. With ocean extraction, they have angered the demons that thrived in the sea. In a desperate attempt to fend off these 2 awakened ancient predators, humanity sought control over ancient protectors of this world: titans. But they failed to control them and in turn, angered the ancient gods that protected the world. With no other choice, humanity was forced to leave earth and live on mars.
Over the years, humanity has adapted to life on Mars. Until finally, the world's leading research and development company Bioxis had successfully created super soldiers that would help humanity to take over earth once more. The company called it project Araxys, or Araxys in short. These are genetically modified human clones with superhuman abilities: superstrength, night vision, prolonged periods without oxygen, skins that can filter radioactive materials, and even minor regeneration abilities. But nothing could possibly trump an Araxy’s ultimate weapon, an ARMS (Automated Reconnaissance Modular System). An ARMS is a powerful weapon that can come in many shapes and forms : an arm, a leg, a chestplate, or even a shinpad can be considered an ARMS. With many varieties, each ARMS offers the Araxys soldier a power like fire blasts, explosive touch, and even super speed.
With these ARMS, the Araxys sole purpose and existence is to fulfill one mission: to capture and bring back Mythos to Mars. In the past before humanity left earth, they created the world's first ever conscious AI system, Mythos. Initially, the founders were overjoyed and released news of Mythos to the world. With it, humanity created the dreamscape, a virtual world where the only limitations are those of your imagination by using the power of Mythos. But instead of using Mythos to create, humans used it to steal, hack, and even conquer the real world with it. The government immediately shut Mythos down after a few years and implemented a safer AI that could hold up dreamscapes but not for long. The creators of Mythos put a restriction on Mythos by splitting it into two halves, Pyras for ideals and Miras for reality: one to uphold ideals, one to guard the truth. Once an Araxys had brought back both Pyras and Miras, humans will finally have the power to defeat the oppressors of their homes once and for all.
In this alternate world, humanity has created the world's first ever conscious AI system, Mythos.

The creators sealed all knowledge of Mythos away so that not even Miras and Pyras know what they truly are. After a mercenary group known as the Unova’s devastate their hiding place, the pair will travel across the land to destroy the master source of Mythos. At the end however, when the pair finally face their goal at long last, Miras decides to not destroy the dreamscape. Instead, he decides to further expand so all of reality becomes one where no more suffering exists in the world, forcing Pyras to confront Miras.
Aeron is the main character
Now with humanity gone from earth, humans seek a way to survive elsewhere. Thus became Project Araxys : human clones with genetically modified abilities such as night vision, prolonged periods without oxygen and minor regeneration. Aeron is the 56th batch to be created. But here is the twist : they are not some genetically enhanced humans. No, they are clones of “heroes” (the hunters) of the past who once fought valiantly for humanity against the dragons or demons but fell in battle. And where Aeron is special, is that he is the clone of Ragna. Now the hero Ragna, does not exist. Not really as far as the general public is concerned. Ragna is a hero that was erased from history for a hidden reason.
So once Aeron discovers the secret of what truly he is and every other Araxys project, their faith in rules break as the very people who tabooed magic (or ryu in other words) created them using it but faking it in the name of "technology" along with unraveling the past as of what truly happened on earth 2000 years ago when humanity fled from earth
Now here is the interesting bit : the name Ragna doesn’t mean anything in this world. Ragna as far as most humans are concerned does not “exist”. The reason for this is that the higher authorities of humanity, the Archons, buried Ragna’s legend for an unknown reason. In comparison to one of the other characters, Kaisel, who is the clone of Gilgamesh, claimed as one of the legendary heroes that fought against the titans, Gilgamesh’s story was preserved perfectly and was widespread everywhere.
Within the company Bioxis, the company that created project araxys, they secretly have a "hierarchy system” that is built into each araxys (what aeron and Kasel is). The higher you are in the hierarchy system, the more power and more control you have over the lower rankings through a system built into each of them called “visage”
But out of all of the araxys, only Aeron dared to question the authority. And that precisely is why the Archons erased Ragna or at least tried to. The 56th batch that Aeron came out of originally was errored. The factory was lit on fire but Aeron survived. Now the factory was set on fire by the Archons who knew ahead of time that somehow and someone managed to dig up the history of Ragna and cloned him so the Archons set fire to the factory and posted the fire on the news as a “factory malfunction” so the truth can't be seen.
Aeron
This is our main character. Aeron is part of the 56th batch created in project Araxys (one batch avg around 300 soldiers with about 3% of those soldiers dying in infancy). But here is the interesting thing. The 56th batch that Aeron came out of originally was errored. The factory caught fire but Aeron and a few other units survived. However Aeron was damaged during the fire thus he couldn’t wear an ARMS properly. Instead, they could only give him a prototype ARMS, amongst the first few that were made : fire fist. Fire Fist was amongst one of the few ARMS that were made on earth and its ability is relatively simple compared to other ARMS. Quite literally, fire fists ability is to create an overwhelming amount of heat in the araxys arm and then throw it out like a ball of fire resembling a fist.
Skye
This is our side character. Skye came out of the very 1st batch of araxys units ever made. And just like Aeron, he wields one of the first few ARMS ever made : cinder palm. Its ability is to absorb any attack into its palm and into the Araxys unit where it can choose to do 2 things : keep that energy for later usage or expel it right back out the palm.
But there is one more thing about fire fist and cinder fist. These 2 rather unique among all other ARMS: unlike all other ARMS which each one is distinct, fire fist is considered an equal to cinder palm with the two abilities complementing each other
The inciting incident goes roughly something like this (this is just the beats not full details)
The squad is assigned a mission
They are transported to earth
However upon entry of planet earth, space debris had hit part of their engine causing them to crash land
Aeron’s visage component is damaged allowing him to see beyond just energy signals for the first time
He wanders away from his squad (which currently trying to set up camp) intrigued by the new world
But because his visage network is broken, he couldn’t see a trap that the surfacain made to capture prey
Mars
1. Humanity lives deep underground with the lower the level being, the higher the social ranking as the poorest lives near the surface where there are massive sandstorms. Humanity has only taken 32% of mars with the rest being inhospitable due to the high winds and intense storms.
2. The social hierarchy isn’t as clear cut but goes something along like this: miners living close to the surface to find precious minerals created by the strong storms, farmers, factory workers, soldiers, Bioxis, and then the archons being at the top.
3. Everything is related to the reclamation of earth.
4. While the archons set them up as heroes, normal society does not seem to accept them well. Since araxys units are technically not human nor are they really a creature, they don’t belong anywhere. They are clones, items that are created and just as disposable as a plastic bottle.
Earth
1. With humans no longer being the apex predators, the planet evolved to suit the needs of the new kings of the ecosystem : dragons and demons. The whole planet has evolved into an environment where a normal human will most likely die within their first few hours of descending onto the planet without proper gear. The surfacain lives closer to fresh water lakes and dense jungles as the tall cities have now turned into rubbles fit for a dragon's nest and a demon's hunting ground. Titans reside everywhere. The tallest mountains to the deepest oceans.
2. They usually land far away from cities and in an open field where there are less sightings of dragons and demons. Afterward, they are told to head toward north and find a mountain range that has 3 crest shapes (the last known location of Mythos). They usually do not comeback to mars with only few exception when they find something worthy of bringing back home
3. Dragons usually reside in the cities, establishing nests high up in the skyscrapers where they are highly territorial of that space and venturing out to hunt for prey. Demons typically stick to near beaches where they sunbathe primarily and hunt for food in the sea. Titans are more irregular, often appearing close to contaminated parts of nature like near a nuclear plant.
1. Araxys units lives right inbetween the military and bioxis.
2. Titans are naturally drawn towards these sights as radiation feeds them and in exchange, the leftover wastes produced by titans purifies the contaminated parts
However, there are more things on earth other than the surfacain people and dragons or demons.
Out of the 78% of humans that were left behind, it was estimated by the scientists on mars that only 8% of them would survive.
Among those 8%, it was then estimated that around 5% of those would naturally become what is now known as the surfacain.
Which is where these 3% now built a semi-civilization near the arctic: Forstrol, the last fortress of humanity on earth.
Despite being a remnant of humanity, they rather despise the Araxys, as they see them as a reminder of they were the “unworthy” ones deemed not be saved
But there is a reason why they chose the arctic. The arctic is the only region throughout the entire world where dragons, demons, and even titans actively avoid…
So then who are the main squad of the story?
Aeron belongs in Unit 95 with its captain being Skye and the subordinates being Aeron, Adrex, Blue, and Kairos.
With each of their ARMS being :
Skye - cinder palm : absorb any attack into its palm and into the Araxys unit where it can choose to do 2 things, keep that energy for later usage or expel it right back out the palm.
Aeron - fire fist : create an overwhelming amount of heat in the araxys arm and then throw it out like a ball of fire resembling a fist.
Blue - Riptide : takes in the momentum of the enemy and redirect it back to them
Kairos - Fulgur : increases the araxys reaction, speed, and recovery to a near lightning speeds. However, excessive usage may cause the circuitry to burn out quickly.
However, in the story, Kairos and Blue will show up a bit later
The reason why Kairos and blue and adrex (forgot to mention him) is held back on mars is due to a much needed update to their ARMS. Bioxis was fairly confident Skye is more than capable of handling a 2 man mission given his track record plus the location they are arriving in already has a designated camp of a few units since their mission is to simply re-supply that camp (given this is aerons first mission)
Now then to the fun part : what is each of the units most powerful moves?
Skye - cinder palm’s reijun : a blast that is created by intentionally overheating skyes body, and then concentrating all that heat into one singular focused beam. This does require skye to absorb a massive amount of damage first however a lighter scale of this attack can be done without absorption and just relying on the overheat factor.
Aeron - fire fist’s Hakai : a fire attack shaped in a fist that will quite literally strike with the force of a meteor impact. This however, does require aeron to literally become the meteor thus this attack is not used lightly
Blue - riptide’s full reversal : this move allows riptide to basically return the attack at twice the capacity. This attack still has the same condition as before. Bigger attack = bigger backlash
Adrex - gale vertex’s tiger bite fist : a move where adrex concentrates a wind burst into the palm of his hands and sends it out into four directions, ripping apart anything that comes into contact. This moves however is most effective in closer range being best if it lands a direct hit. A large risk large reward sort of relation.
Kairos - fulgur’s godspeed : every hit, move, and even Kairos entire body is coated in electricity making any and every hit from him hurt and any hit done to him even hurt more. Long usage of this can overload kairos body with enough electricity to fry most if not all of his circuits leading to a shut down of his central nervous system due to an overload.
Now then for pyras and miras
Their ultimate moveset is a bit more limited given that their base set is already pretty OP. Their movesets will be limited to being only accessible in the dreamscape (but once operational, the dreamscape covers the whole planet its just that currently the dreamscape is down)
Miras - veritas override : Miras in the dreamscape can determine the “truth”. He can dictate reality inside the dreamscape such as ‘fire does not burn’ or ‘the ground is now water’ actions like those. However, just one action causes an immense headache and pain throughout. However, his ability is limited to only what is “real” or what he can recognize as real.
Pyras - Phantasia overload : Pyras is capable of creating anything. From weapons, foods, and even entire body parts for regeneration. This can overload his circuitry the more he does it and thus has the potential if used in heavy moderation, to literally shut him down. His powers is not limited as it is based solely on imagination.
There is one more weapon that araxys units can rely on. On mars, Bioxis discovered a rare type of black coloured mineral that can reshape itself into any structure based on an electromagnetic frequency. Additionally, this mineral absorbs any element near it and even changes its molecule structure based on it. For example, if exposed to fire, the mineral now possesses a fire like nature. Named as Chronium, araxys units can reshape these metals into any weapon they may need on a mission.
Skye prefers to use an axe
Blue prefers to use shields
Adrex prefers dual wielding daggers
Kairos prefers to use a katana
Aeron however cannot or some part of him, is unwilling to create or use chromium. In other words, he can’t transform chromium into any sort of weapon for some unknown reason (there is a reason but they don’t know it. Just yet that is)
The reason why aeron cannot transform chronium lies in his batch number: 56. On this batch, it is special. Previous incarnations of araxys all suffered from one problem or rather their manufacturing suffered from one problem: material. Creating an araxys is not easy, its basically creating a life form from scratch, meaning researchers and scientists have to manually code and redesign each genetic sequence from the start and acquire material to build an araxys (often unethically too). With demand rising and pressure from the archons to deliver more units the researchers decided to go out of their way to do something under the table...the researchers took DNA samples that already previously existed. In other words, batch 56 are clones, not actual araxys units hence why aerons incompatibility with chronium. However, word got around that the researchers did something underhanded so one of the researchers tried to burn down the factory that was currently producing batch 56 in order to cover up the evidence. However, only aeron survived but the fire provided a perfect explanation for the researchers why he was defective.
Now then, time for the antagonists of the story
Nullus or ‘the scrapper’
Rumors says in the araxys program of a black araxys codenamed “obsidian zero” or in other words, the very first araxys ever made even before the first batch. He was one of the 3 prototypes first built by Bioxis to present to the UN.
But what is his ARMS?
It may or may not just be a coincidence that Nullus has the same type of ARMS as Aeron : Nullus also possess fire fist or at least an earlier iteration of fire fist.
But what made Nullus so infamous and earned the name of “Obsidian Zero” is that on his first mission, Nullus somehow overwritten and rebelled against Visage, something that is supposed to be impossible.
To this day, no one knows the location of Nullus but most experts and scientists at bioxis agree that nullus most likely ran out of power and died long ago since he never refueled or was seen again.
But what truly spooked the units was this : some returning araxys from past missions claims that they saw Nullus and the way he survived was dismantling other araxys and taking their ARMS.
This was disputed by bioxis when the veteran araxys went to report a sighting as bioxis said that araxys, prototype or not, are not built to sustain more than 1 ARMS to prevent an overrload and what likely they saw was simply a trick played by a demon as demons like to trick creatures into seeing their greatest fears.
But why did Nullus rebel?
Similar to Havoc, Nullus did not know his purpose. All he knew was that he was birthed into this world by human hand. Not human nor animal, he had no mother, no father, no guardian to set him right from wrong. He only saw himself as a weapon. But then, something in him snapped one day, as his program developed something no araxys prototype should be able to do : the feeling of greed. Nullus began to WANT things. He wanted a better life, he wanted a purpose other than killing, he wanted something greater than what he was created to do. He no longer wanted to be a weapon or a slave to bioxis.
Nullus’s eventual isolation lead him to discover humanities past on earth. Learning of them, he discovered that every era of humanity had been plagued by their greed and wanton destruction with no regard for life.
Thus, Nullus made it his mission to destroy bioxis once and for all and make humanity the prey of extinction
Zero
A human(?). No one is quite sure what Zero is. Zero however is pretty convinced that he is a dragon as he was raised and grew up with dragons. Interestingly however, he feels at home with the dragons and does not want to go to human civilizations even though some survivors tried to take him away. Over time, since he played with dragons so much, he even developed draconic traits. Rough skin, abnormal strength, and incredible sense of smell. The purpose of Zero in the story is to serve as a guide in the world when aeron and pyras and miras go in search for Forstrol
Thematically however he is meant to be the opposite to Miras
model Imbris or “Umbra”
This is the newest model of the araxys program. Shortly after Aeron goes rogue (which he will in the story) the Archons decide enough was enough and bring in Helix Co, the rival company of Bioxis to clear up the mess bioxis made. Helix started completely anew for the araxys program. They scrapped the independent choice making of an araxys unit and switched it for the purely coded and all-built-in-one purpose of an araxys. Umbra was made for one purpose and one purpose only : track, exterminate, and disable any and all rogue araxys units.
The main differences between model Imbris and an Araxys is its ability to wield ARMS. Where an Araxys can wield only one due to its circuitry, model Imbris can wield multiple due to the heavy advancements made by Helix and its new found backing by the archons. What Helix did was somehow copy what Nullus did and thus essentially creating faster, stronger, smarter, and ruthless versions of Nullus which are all under Helix’s control (at a certain point in the story through the combined efforts of Helix, Bioxis, and the full resource disposal of the archons they finally managed to capture nullus)
Neo Nullus
With Miras and Pyras receiving MASSIVE god-like power ups, I thought that Nullus should also get his own (don’t worry aeron will also get one of his own power ups)
Neo Nullus or ‘Neo’ as he likes to call himself now, is Nullus' new form. After escaping from his cell on mars, he took his time to absorb the new Imbris model into himself. This means he will now have the traits of both his old prototype model (Model Enas) and the new model Imbris. This allows Neo to copy any and all moves from any and all sorts of beings. Even biological attached weapons are not off limits with Neo can copy dragons firebreath and this means Neo can and is capable of copying and performing ryu techniques
The copying period can be achieved from a matter of mili-seconds to minutes and store these attacks into his data and pull them out at any time he wants.
However, his copying does not limit to just merely copying his opponents move, he can also combine attacks he has in his database (quite a big database might i add with LOTS of ARMS techniques)
Aeron’s fire fist : Ignition overdrive
This is Aeron’s answer to Neo’s copying ability. Fire fist’s ability ignition overdrive will heat up the ARMS so much to the point where instead of standard static flames, the Aerons fire becomes chaotic and constantly changing in temperature, density, and frequency at a subatomic level and ever evolving in terms of power. This means that every moment Aeron’s fire fist will evolve into something stronger in accordance to Aerons “will”. Because the flame shifts state faster than Neo's scanning system can process, any move Neo attempts to copy instantly backfires as he may copy the wrong thing, the weaker version, or even overload Neo’s database due to the raw amount of moves can throw out.
But no matter the move Neo throws out, his copied variant will always be slightly weaker than the original because Neo just has SO many moves that he can’t master all of them (he masters some but not all) unlike the Araxys units he copied from, araxys units can only have one ARMS meaning they have mastered that ARMS through and through
As bruce lee once said “I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times”
On earth there are 3 environments that the archons have categorized as completely out of the question to invade due to just how impossible they are until further developments. These lands are called Area Zero
- East Hyrull : a small mountain that is so jagged and windy that anything flying will basically be sliced to pieces
- Sylvan forest : a massive forest range that is so twisted and dense that entire armies can disappear in there
- Maryan sea : a section of the sea that is constantly plagued with storms. Entire fleets of boats can be drowned and fleets of airships can be lost
The forbidden three
These 3 creatures rule over the 3 area zeroes and are avoided on all cost and only targeted by high ranking araxys units.
- Abaddon : a black scaled dragon so violent and destructive that even his own kind abandoned him.
